To Quill the Mocking World

Do You ?

Poetry, Anuragdasi Patel

3 min read

You shabby mosaic of glass

Do you see yourself clearly ?

Yes, I can meet my own eyes.

Rising on tides with your mighty masthead

Do you sail with the wind ?

No, I direct my sail.

Mass of paperwhite skin

Do you believe in ghosts ?

Yes, they always disappear.

Muse of a thousand words

Do your scars hurt ?

No, I perennially bleed misery.

Watcher of the world

Do you read them, faces, well ?

Yes, they’re as black as white.

Martyr of heart wrenching wars

Do you smell your flowers ?

No, I never get them.

Waking up another day again

Do you get sound sleep ?

Yes, the morgue keeps quiet.

You beautifully broken thing

Do you believe in magic ?

No, but only it’s right in your eyes.
