To Quill the Mocking World

There is something about love

something-about-love

There is something about love

That it lays hidden in my wardrobe

With the gifted magenta shirt

For being not so much

Age appropriate.

There is something about love

That it is left on the rear seat of my car

With the foldable black umbrella

For being such a bother

To tag along.

There is something about love

That it keeps falling from my wallet

With the odd 2-rupee coins

Kept aside for the beggars

At traffic signals

There is something about love

That I can’t call her by name

At the departure lounge

When she is just at a hearing distance

After 20 odd years.
