To Quill the Mocking World

Arushi Mittal

(3 min read)

I lie down naked in front of you

Not just a bare body

I am skinned, just flesh

Your perfect sharpness

Slices into this tender meat

A gash there, a slash here

A stab right through the heart

Your face smeared red

The blood that gushed out

Like a fountain

Like my only choice

At combating your moves

You savour the attempt

You savour the dripping red

Licking your lips

Your teeth glistening

Reaching for another bite

Fleetingly, I open my eyes

Wildly sinking in

Your gaze meets mine

Can’t recall anymore

Was it you, or was it all I
